Highlighted Unique Custom USB and TRRS Keyboard Cable Projects
Ivailo KostadinovWe’ve worked on many unique cable projects that rarely get seen outside our workshop. This post is a chance to showcase a few of them, with much of the credit going to our talented customers whose ideas shaped these builds. Many of the designs you’ll see here come directly from their creativity. Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration for your own mechanical or split keyboard setup.

Lemo keyboard cable and TRRS keyboard cable in "Galaxy" theme
Both cables are in our "Galaxy" theme. The keyboard is ZSA Voyager. The specifications are:
- Lemo keyboard cable, with 4" coil, black Lemo connector and black heat-shrink, and USB C connection.
- The coiled TRRS is 8" with painted black TRRS connectors.
Aviator coiled cable and TRRS keyboard cable in "Coffee Cream" Theme
- The Aviator coiled cable is 4", with a painted white Gx16 connector and white heat-shrink. The USB C is connected via an angled USB C to USB C adapter. The host cable is in a Pastel blue color.
- The TRRS keyboard cable is also 4", with painted white straight TRRS connectors and direction 2. The keyboard is Sofle.
Custom coiled cords for Glove80 keyboard
A set of custom coiled cords for the Glove80 keyboard. Both with 4" coils and painted in light purple Yc8 connector, purple heat-shrink, and USBC to C connection. One in a light blue theme and the other in green, inspired by the Islander keycaps theme.
Custom coiled cable and a long TRRS keyboard cable in "Galaxy" theme for ZSA Voyager
- The custom coiled cable is 6", with USB C to USB C connection, black Yc8 connector and black heat shrink.
- And a long keyboard cable coil for the TRRS cable - 10", with black angled TRRS connectors. Set of custom cables for ZSA Voyager keyboard.

For a very special client! It's a set of 3 cables. The keyboard is ZSA Moonlander.
- The coiled TRRS cable is 8" with white techflex, black Paracord, and silver TRRS connectors.
- The custom USB cable with the same colors and white Gx16 Aviator, USB-C connection.
- The third cable was a custom JST for the Trackball mouse.
Overall, it took longer than expected, but our client was extremely patient and helpful (it was our first custom JST cable). Love the final result!

Some cable gymnastics there! A 10" custom TRRS cable for ZSA Voyager keyboard. In our white theme, with white angled TRRS connectors. Our cables might look rigid, but they can be pretty flexible!
Grey Aviator coiled cable and USB C to C linking cable for Iris Rev 7 keyboard

- Aviator coiled cable is equipped with 4" coil, black Gx16 Aviator, black heat-shrink and USB-C connection.
- The linking cable is also 4", with USB C to USB C connection and black heat-shrink.
Very sleek look. The synergy between the keyboard, keycaps, and cables is amazing!

- The Lemo keyboard cable is equipped with an 8" coil, painted in black Lemo connector, red heat shrink, and USB-C connection
- The custom TRRS cable is also with an 8" coil and black straight TRRS connectors.
Both cables are in our "Dark Botanical" color theme.
Coiled USB-C to USB-C cable and a coiled TRRS cable
This combo is pretty unique for us. It's the first time we tried painting with Cerakote a Mini XLR connector. We are pretty happy with the final result, and I'll surely add painted Mini XLRs in the shop soon.
The specifications of these custom cables are:
- Custom coiled cable - 8" Coil, Painted in Robins Egg Mini XLR, USB C to C, and white heat-shrink.
- and TRRS keyboard cable with 8" coil and angled TRRS connectors. The model is our Pastel Jelly Rainbow coiled cable.

A very clean overall look. I am very happy to be a part of it. It's actually a set of 3 cables.
- Custom coiled cable with 6" coil. Yc8 connector and white heat-shrink. All white.
- 2 straight USB cables for charging docks for the mouse and headphones.

A set of pink custom coiled cables is our "Baby pink" theme.
- The coiled TRRS cable is equipped with a 4" coil, painted in pink angled TRRS connectors.
- The Aviator cable keyboard has no coil, a pink Aviator connector - Gx16, white heat-shrink, and USB C connection.

- The Aviator coiled cable has 8" coil, painted in white Gx16 Aviator connector, white heat-shrink and USB C to USB C connection connected to a MacBook.
- Coiled TRRS keyboard cable with 8" coil and painted in white straight TRRS connectors.
Both cables are of our "Snow" cable model.
A set of coiled keyboard cables for GMK Botanical Keycaps
After spending some years now in this hobby, GMK Botanical keycaps are probably my top 3 keycaps all time. I was very happy designing these models, and I have received some great feedback from our clients.
- For "Botanical" - Light green coil, with white Gx16 and dark green host cable. With USB C to A connection and white heat-shrink.
- For "Dark Botanical" - Dark green coil, dark green Gx16, light green host cable. With white heat-shrink and USB-C to USB-A connection.

Another beautiful and clean setup. Receiving reviews with photos like this one is very fulfilling. Just top of my list! The keyboard is Ergodox EZ. Both cables are in the "Dark Botanical" theme.

Lemo Keyboard Cable with TRRS Keyboard Cord
A look that matches everything! Black is always a classy and clean way to go. The short description would be "All black", but I'll share the specs for the newer people in the hobby.
- The Lemo keyboard cable has an 8" coil, a black Lemo connector, Direction 3, and USB-C to USB-A connection.
- The coiled TRRS cable is with 8" coil and black angled TRRS connectors

A custom build for a Split Keyboard with USB C ports
Pretty unique build. Its a coiled USB C cable in our "Terror Below" theme. Connected to an adapter and 2 extensions USB C to C connected to the boards. Surely one of a kind.

All White TRRS and USB Coiled Cables
An 8" coiled TRRS with angled TRRS connectors with a 7" Coiled USB C cable with Aviator connector. Everything in white! Sadly, we don't have a photo of the final setup. Hopefully, soon we will :).
